Melissa Sloop believes that meaningful growth often begins when people have a safe place to better understand their lived experiences, relationships, and patterns while discovering new ways of moving toward a healthy and fulfilling future. She has a particular heart for helping individuals and families experience greater healing, connection, and freedom in their lives and relationships.
Before beginning her clinical training, Melissa spent many years in non-profit ministry working with older adolescents, young adult women, and their families. Those experiences shape her deep appreciation for the stories and relationships that influence who we are and how we experience the world. She approaches counseling with warmth, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique story. Her Christian faith deeply informs her understanding of people and healing, and she enjoys integrating Christian counseling principles and spiritual formation practices into the counseling process when clients desire this.
Melissa is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling practicum student at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Messiah University and holds a certification in Spiritual Formation.
She is thrilled to be working at Restore at the beginning of her counseling journey! When she’s not at Restore or working on her class work, she loves time with family and friends, and lots of coffee along the way.
